Weatherization
Assistance Program:
The Weatherization
Assistance Program provides low and moderate
income households with improvements to their
homes which increase the energy efficiency
of their dwelling, including measures such
as:
- Airsealing attics,
crawlspaces, etc
- Insulating and
weatherstripping
- Repair and replacement of
heating systems
- Replacement of doors and
windows
- Installation of fans,
smoke alarms, CO detectors
The weatherization work is
performed by our in-house crews and
specialty contractors for heating,
electrical, etc.
Weatherization services
are provided to qualified homeowners
and renters
including:
- Single and multifamily
homes
- Mobile homes
- Apartments and condos.
Homes weatherized
before April 2008, are now eligible to be
re-weatherized.
To obtain weatherization
services you must:
- Complete application and
return it to Interior Weatherization (in
person is preferred).
- Attend workshop.
Interior Weatherization
works in Fairbanks and North Pole and on the
road system in the interior to Circle,
Cantwell and Delta Junction.

Eligibility
To be eligible for our
program, your gross income for the previous
12 months cannot exceed 100% of the median
income for your family size. (See table
below)

A household with an occupant
who has received assistance from one of the
following programs during the 12 month
period preceding the application is income
eligible.
- Low-income Home Heating
Assistance (LIHEAP)
- Supplemental Security
Income (SSI)
- Alaska Temporary
Assistance Program (ATAP)
- Temporary Assistance for
Needy Families (TANF)
- Food Stamps
- Senior Care Benefits
- Adult Public
Assistance/Interim Assistance (APA/IA)
- Medicaid Waiver
For income determination,
the household consists of all permanent
residents within the dwelling unit. A
permanent resident is someone who currently
lives in the home or is a full-time student
away from home.
